2) That web link will go to a special page on our new website, SalonCentral.com where your prospective staff will be able to download the free report - which is a thinly-disguised sales pitch for your wonderful salon, and why they should want to work there.

3) To get the free report, the prospective staff member will have to enter their name, email address and contact number. Every time they do, you'll get an email containing those details. Bingo!

4) I can hear you asking already, "But I don't know how to put together that special report!" You won't have to. Take a deep breath. We've already done that for you - you'll get the template in Word format, and all you have to do is fill in the blanks!

How to Get Hundreds of ACCURATE Names and Addresses in Your Client Marketing List...and a Special Bonus for Inner Circle members. 

This newsletter is rapidly turning into the Tracey Orr show...but that's because this star Inner Circle member demonstrates time and again exactly why she's a million dollar salon owner, and is getting richer by the hour.

I constantly nag and cajole Inner Circle members - and anybody else who'll listen - that a well-maintained accurate database of client contact details is GOLD. In fact, it is the ONLY real value in your business.

ALL truly successful salon owners know this, Tracey among them. With military precision and discipline, Tracey implemented a process by which she obtained up-to-date email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses from more than 1,000 of her clients - in a matter of a couple of weeks!

Now, if you've run a salon or spa for any length of time, you'll know how hard it is to get staff to collect ALL the relevant details, EVERY time. So Tracey turned this admitted inefficiency into a marketing event...and got her clients to do all the work for her! First, she sent a 'we suck at getting your details' letter to over 2,500 clients...Here's how she describes the process...

"We sent this letter out on fluoro paper (2 pages) in hand addressed envelopes.  The letter went to 2567 clients.  We gave clients the option of completing the form by web or snail mail.  We were originally going to include a self addressed return envelope but decided not to due to the cost!
 
We sent the mail out last week finishing on Friday.  To date we have had no less than 1000 come back and most by snail mail!  I guess clients will invest in a 50c stamp for $45 bucks worth of freebies.
 
One of my staff mentioned "oh my god it will cost a fortune for the giveaways" but...
 
a) A $20 "Get Out Of Beauty" free card and a $25 voucher does not actually cost me $45.  Plus the client will always have to put some of their cash towards the treatment as nothing we have is $20 except for an eyebrow shape.
 
b) The "cost" of $45 is easily recouped by the client getting all our text messages, email, letter marketing and newsletters.
 
c) The cost of a 100% correct database is invaluable!
 
d) When we send the second letter saying here is your $45 worth of beauty stuff we include their first months newsletter, our valentines flyer for the hubby in the house and an invitation to our make-up night!
 
e) We also sign them into our online beauty shop and provide them a user name and password as well as a special so we will increase traffic to this area of the business.
 
We are normally very good at getting clients details the first time they come in and generally clients will let us know their new phone number.  We have been really surprised how many clients have changed address, mobile, email etc.  Also some clients that previously didn't provide all details have now provided same.
 
One of the most successful return rates we have had to date with a promo.  Also we felt as Jan is a quieter month it is a perfect time to do as clients have rung and booked when they receive their vouchers.

Despite the fact that January 26 marks the day in 1788 when boatloads of British criminals founded Australia as a penal colony - which it remained for the next 80 years - we Aussies tend to be very enthusiastic about the national holiday's background these days.

In fact, we've all got our hands full - the national flag in one hand and a cold beer in the other.

Personally, I had other things on my mind this past Australia Day long weekend.

In Longreach Bay, Rottnest Island, I was aboard my boat, The Other Woman with my beloved Michelle and a boatload of friends and family, when the Marine Ranger pulled alongside for a friendly chat.

Now normally, if the Ranger turns up for a quiet word, it means you're in trouble...haven't paid your landing fee, picked up the wrong mooring, exceeding the speed limit, it could be any one of a dozen transgressions. But this time, the only person on board who didn't have a clue why the ranger was there was Michelle.

"Is Michelle Robinson on board?" he asked. Michelle's faced dropped. Er, yes...why do you ask?

"Well, the police have asked us to track you down and ask you a few questions...were you at the Rottnest Hotel on the night of April 4 last year?"

Um...y-y-y-yesss.....

"Did you meet a certain gentleman on that occasion"

Um...what's all this about?

Then he dropped the bombshell....and I held my breath.

"Would you marry Greg Milner???"

 

It could have gone pear-shaped, but I'm a risk taker. She said YES!

Ahhhh... I love it when a marketing campaign comes off!
